Prison officer recruitment

We are currently recruiting prison officers across multiple prisons in Victoria. 

Prison officers make a positive impact on others’ lives and help make the community safer for everyone. 

We are looking for people with a wide range of skills and life experiences for roles that offer opportunity for development and growth. 

New $8,000 sign-on bonus 

New prison officers who apply after Thursday 1 May 2025 are now eligible for a bonus of up to $8,000.  

Six months after you start, you will receive a payment of $4,000.  

Then, after one year’s full-time employment, you will receive an additional payment of $4,000.  

This incentive is designed to attract the best new prison officers and encourage you to explore all aspects of the role.
